Has Adil Aouchiche added some much needed Va Va Voom to the Dons attack?
Upon confirmation of his loan signing back in the summer, hopes were high amongst the Red Army as to the output that we could expect from Adil Aouchiche.
An academy graduate of PSG, Aouchiche holds the honour of being the youngest player to ever score a goal for the Parisian side back in January 2020. At the peak of his promise, Aouchiche held a market value in the range of EUR10m - a player heralded with huge talent in his native France and further afield having been nominated for the 2020 Golden Boy Award - won by Erling Haaland that particular calendar year.
Aouchiche made the move to the UK back in September 2023, joining Sunderland on a 5 year contract after spells with both Saint Étienne & Loirent.
His time on Wearside very much a tale of two halves - a frequent starter in his first campaign in England but he began to find those starts harder to come by in his second season - injuries meaning he missed a large chunk of the opening stages of the campaign before becoming a frequenly unused member of the matchday squad as the Black Cats mounted a promotion assault.
